Metal Strip Coating System

The VON ARDENNE MSC500 provides an excellent entry point into coil‑based PVD coating of metal strip. Its batch‑oriented design uses coil‑to‑coil processing with planned pauses and manual coil exchange.

Despite operating in batch mode, the process chamber remains under vacuum between maintenance intervals, ensuring stable and repeatable coating conditions. This makes the MSC500 ideal for users who do not require the high throughput or continuous operation of a fully air‑to‑air coating line.

Equipped with magnetron sputtering technology, the MSC500 enables the deposition of complex, highly functional multilayer stacks for a wide range of applications.

A special application area is the coating of bipolar plates for PEM fuel cells and PEM electrolyzers with VON ARDENNE's unique carbon coating X-CONDUCT.
