Metal Strip Coating System

The MSC1250 is a high‑performance production system designed for applying functional coatings to metal strip using physical vapor deposition (PVD). Built on a modular air‑to‑air platform, it enables fully continuous processing with external coilers and automated handling for maximum efficiency.

The system can be equipped with a wide range of pre‑treatment and coating modules. By combining multiple metals and oxides through various PVD processes, the MSC1250 supports the creation of complex, highly functional multilayer stacks tailored to demanding applications.

A special application area of the MSC1250 is the coating of bipolar plates for PEM fuel cells and PEM electrolyzers with VON ARDENNE's unique carbon coating X-CONDUCT.
